Q: What is the manufacturer's warranty?
A: Every brand of equipment comes with a warranty on the parts within the system. Different brands have different
warranties. The average warranty on most parts is five years. The more expensive parts of the system such as the compressor and
evaporator coil often have longer warranties stretching out to ten years. To learn more about warranties,

Q: Is the new system going to lower my electric bill?
A: The most power hungry device in your home is your air conditioner. If you're a/c system
is old or not maintained then you're spending too much on your power bill. Check the SEER rating of the system you're thinking about
buying. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. The minimum rating allowable for new systems is a 13 SEER with a maximum
around 19. The higher the SEER… the lower your electric bills. For every one point increase in SEER you can estimate you will save
approximately 10% on your electric bill. Most equipment older than eight years have SEER ratings of eight and lower. To learn how much
a new system can save you, click here.
Q: If the system breaks down how easy is it to repair?
A: Your air conditioner has over 30 components that can break. Is the equipment designed for easy service? A poorly
designed system may cost less to purchase, but very costly to fix. The easier the access, the less expensive the repair. To learn
which systems have the best repair access, click here.
Q: How quiet is the system operation?
A: Anyone who's been awakened by the rattling of a noisy air conditioner can appreciate the need for a quiet
operating system. Not all brands operate at the same noise level. For more information on the benefits of a quiet system,

Q: Are there any incentives available from my electric company for replacing my a/c system?
A: Progress Energy (formerly Florida Power) and OUC have incentives programs for replacing your equipment with a more energy efficient model. Click here for more information.
Q: What do I need to get started?
A: Come up with a price range of what you are willing to pay for a new air conditioning/ heating system. Listen to
your system. Is it too loud? Does the air in the house feel dry… or humid? Does anyone have sneezing attacks or allergies? 21st
century air conditioning systems are much more advanced than systems of just a few years ago. The benefits to you and your family
can be tremendous… to your wallet and your health. Finding the right solution requires the experience of a trained professional. To

Q: What should I look for in an Air Conditioning Company
A: Selecting the brand of equipment is important, but choosing the best company to install and service the
equipment is vital. Be sure to ask...
- Is the company properly licensed and insured?
- If I need service how soon can I get an appointment?
- What methods of payment do you accept and can I finance the purchase?
- How long is your labor warranty?
- Do your installers also service a/c equipment and why is this important?
